PEM SpotFast self-clinching fasteners offer a wide variety of new possibilities for fastening sheet metal. They also do away with the limitations imposed when using traditional riveting methods and especially welding technology. Apart from fastening two similar metals, with SpotFast different materials as well as plastics can be joined permanently. During the insertion process a flow of material is released in both clinch areas. This results in a flush compaction both in the upper as well as the lower metal or plastic sheet. Afterwards, the materials can be painted, varnished or powder-coated without any problem. The procedure can be applied to sheets from 0.8 mm in thickness, Special tools are not required. The SpotFast self-clinching fasteners are RoHS-compliant and are available in a range of different diameters and lengths in galvanised steel and stainless steel versions.
